Suberra introduces cork counter tops! Georgeous! I can't wait to use this in a project. The material is available in large slabs throughout the US in 1.25" and 6" thicknesses and can be sealed into large monolithic counters using plain wood glue. The benefits of cork include it being a natural anti microbial, self healing, 100% post industrial recycled, waterproof and beautiful!
Cost is comparable to Corian at around $30 /sf retail.
