Risén Promoted for Advancing Leadership in Integrated Sustainable Design

Ziger/Snead, a Baltimore-based architectural design firm, is pleased to announce that Jonas Risén has been promoted as an Associate.

Jonas joined Ziger/Snead in 2007, bringing to the team a multidisciplinary approach rooted in both architecture and science, with an emphasis on integrated design process and whole building performance.

Jonas received a Master of Sustainable Design from Carnegie Mellon’s Center for Building Performance. He also has a Master of Architecture from Tulane School of Architecture and studied an Urban Programme at the Glasgow School of Art. He is a Registered Architect, a LEED Accredited Professional, and Maryland’s only Certified Passive House Consultant.

Jonas has played a critical role for the design of the new Dining Hall Addition for the Friends School of Baltimore, the Elmer A. Henderson Elementary School Renovation and Addition for East Baltimore Devvelopment Inc., and The Parks & People Headquarters at Auchentoroly Terrace, anticipated to be Baltimore City’s first LEED Platinum-certified building. Jonas is also the main editor of the firm’s blog, which attracts more than 100,000 visitors a month.

“We’ve been thrilled by the expertise Jonas has brought to our recognized leadership in integrated sustainable design,” says founding partner, Steve Ziger.
