Jacob pivoted to architecture after five years working at music/arts organizations and composing music. During this time, he released two albums and collaborated with Brooklyn- and Tokyo-based artists. He comes to architecture seeking to engage with the physical world and with communities to develop a critical understanding of present conditions and to shape a more livable future. The cornerstone of his education was a yearlong project designing and prefabricating an award-winning field camp for scientists on an Antarctic island severely impacted by climate change. An interdisciplinary thinker committed to social and environmental justice, Jacob believes that architecture offers powerful ways of repairing relationships with each other and with the planet.
