This project is a renovation of an existing residential common space for use as a campus teaching facility and on-air radio station. The facility has been designed as an acoustically sensitive space which controls reverberant sound energy, sound isolation and the control of noise and vibration. Program requirements include sensitive and non-sensitive spaces separated by a wall. Another requirement includes a visual link between each space through the use of sound sensitive window construction. Mechanical, electrical, and architectural systems are designed to achieve the desired environment for teaching facility, and a recording and broadcasting radio station.
