Who says that sustainable designers don't have their work cut out for them? We designers can have a huge impact. Believe me, I have heard the arguments a million times. "Buildings consume X percentage of world energy and we can save X percent of that energy by designing better buildings." I completely agree, but just in case you weren't feeling sincere pressure to produce the next Passive House Certified kebab stand and save the planet, take a look at this video.
Note: I found this on my daily bike commute here in Baltimore. It is likely the central plant for a low rise housing project lying adjacent to the building, or the city prison. It is really the first cold period we have had here and I guess it was time to rev up old Thomas the Steam Engine District Heating Source from its summer hibernation. Thomas looks grouchy today doesn't he.
